HISTORY MUSEUM
This truly grand location was built in 1913 with proceeds from the World's Fair, as the Jefferson Memorial Building built at the official entrance in Forest Park. In 2000, the Missouri History Museum expanded with the state-of-the-art Emerson Electric Center.
The MacDermot Grand Hall serves as the connecting axis of renovated and expanded portions of the museum and offer an orientation area as well as wonderful space for events, formal receptions, and full service galas. The Grand Hall features a marble and stone floor mosaic representing the Missouri River and suspended above the two-story atrium is the Spirit of St. Louis sister plane.
The Missouri History Museum is also home to Meriwether's restaurant. Meriwether's restaurant is located on the second floor of the museum with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Forest Park. |
